Recycling with style
Tired of all those paper bags with finished coke bottles and cans, old cardboard boxes and other stuff that always seem to pile up in our workroom awaiting the next trip to the recycling station we’ve been trying to find a stylish and functional solution for some time now. I want something that doesn’t look too messy and also holds quite a lot (have I mentioned that we’re large...

A trip to Alingsås
Yesterday, we visited the second hand store Göstas Koffert in Alingsås, which only is open once a month. Quite a long trip for quite a small store, but it was indeed a very nice little store, and I did find some nice (and I think quite cheap) stuff, like this bowl: Didn’t I mention just a couple of days ago that we wanted to have more of them? Well, now we have two! I also got a...

Is purple the new black?
Quite a few of my friends seem to have selected purple as their new favorite accent color at home. This kids room is a great example of the style I like. I especially like the notice-board and the patchwork pillows. I’ve been meaning to sew something like that for quite some time now but haven’t gotten around to it. Perhaps tomorrow?… (image Christian Petersen...

More apartment pictures
Our livingroom: This is the second time we’ve used the open stove :-) The sofa actually looks quite nice from a distance (when you don’t see the scratchmarks that our cat Curry has made). Hallway: The side table/drawer is a find from “blocket”. We got it together with the bedroom drawer for a couple of hundred crowns. Cheap! :-) Balcony: Our garden...

Photosession at home
Today we had a professional photographer at home to shoot our apartment. We’re looking to buy another one and wanted to be prepared to sell (especially since they’re going to be renovating the balconies all fall). We haven’t seen the result yet but needless to say we’re very eager. For now you’ll have to settle with some pics I took myself. Kitchen: Do I have to...

Inspiring kitchen
Found these pictures of a really inspiring kitchen, belonging to Lisa Congdon, on Design Sponge. I especially like her large collection of Grete Prytz Kittelsen/Cathrineholm bowls - we have only one, but I think we deserve to have a lot more! :-) (images from Design Sponge)

Also on my wishlist - baskets from Afroart
I wish Afroart had a store here in Gothenburg so that I could get one of their lovely bread baskets, made in Pakistan and Uganda. It would look really nice on our hall room side table (an old one from the sixties which we bought second hand) and I could use it for storing my bracelets and stuff. Perhaps I should just order one online? I also really like this basket, from Bangladesh: (images...

Ester's wishlist
In a month or so we’re going to have a naming celebration for our daughter, Ester Sigrid. Since she’s only two months old and cannot have a saying in the matter, I made up a wishlist for her :): A retro shelf/”sætterkasse” from Retro Villa: A “rocking rabbit” from Playsam: A retro patchwork bedspread made out of vintage fabrics, like these ones (also from...

Swap-O-Rama
Some time ago I made a promise to myself, sort of a ecological vow; whenever possible I’m going to buy the ecologic alternative and/or check out the second hand-marked first. This goes for everything; food, furniture, clothes and all other stuff. I’m not fanatic but we have bought most furniture lately second hand (which actually has turned out to be much more fun not to mention...

In search of a new rug for our livingroom
We’re looking to replace our livingroom rug, since it’s seen its best days. I’m thinking a so called “trasmatta” in multicolor would be perfect, having small children and all - the’re washable and stains will hopefully not be so visible because of the multicolor. Also they’re pretty. However, it’s proven quite hard to find one in the right size and...
