Black and white graphics
As much as I love bright colors, I also love black and white, especially in strict geometrical patterns (like the pattern on Sergels torg in Stockholm). Therefore I was very happy when I found my way to mamamekko’s new web shop, little studio, where you can get cool posters like these:

Preparing for Earth Hour
The sickness still has its hold upon us, so this year I suspect we will be spending earth hour in bed - asleep. Hoping that the entire family will feel better soon.
Before the sickness we decorated the wall above our bed with pictures by Gorjuss, Madame Mo, Johanna.B and our own little artist, Eowyn (the bottom left one, if you hadn’t guessed that)!

The latest finding
No, not the gnome (who will move out on the balcony when spring arrives) but the globe. I’ve been wanting to have a retro globe for a while now and the other day I finally found one that I liked (blocket FTW!). According to the seller, it’s from the sixties. It’ll be interesting to check the map more in detail, quite a lot has happened with the world since then.

More bathroom ideas
Our latest ideas for the bathroom makeover includes tiles from marrakech design for the floor, combined with white tiles on the walls and a bright yellow door. Don’t know which color I like best for the floor tiles though, they’re all really cool.
We wanted to top it off with an old style claw foot bathtub.
But we’ve realized that it’ll probably be too impractical....

Second hand door
After having re-decorated two of our doors we replaced the third and last one this weekend. Johan and his dad went and bought an old door that I found on blocket for only 200 crowns. It matches the front door much better than the old one did. Now all that’s missing is a new door handle and some paint. It’s gonna become bright yellow (inspired by the front door in this house).

A collegue of mine has one of those electric bikes (his is from EcoRide). I love biking but I am lazy and don’t like the hills in this town so perhaps an electric bike would be the perfect transportation for me? A moving in present

Finally found the Moomin fabric from Finlayson that I’ve been looking for for some time now. Bought an adult size sheet with the intention to destroy it and make textile pictures for the kids’ rooms. Eo got these two small ones:

Eowyn really likes her “new” door, which we painted with blackboard paint so that she can paint on it. Here’s her first piece of art; “Look mum, it’s a big dragon!”:

Bebop-a-lula
Today I went into Bebop Antik. I love just about everything in that shop (except maybe the prices - they’re definitely not flea market cheap but probably reasonable). If you’re visiting Gothenburg I recommend a visit!

Happy happy yellow
Bright yellow is probably my absolute favorite color. Orange and red is not too bad either. But yellow makes me happy.

Little Wanderer
For a while now I’ve been obsessing about “Little wanderer” by Yoshitomo Nara. They’re hard to get by and quite expensive when you find them on eBay. But maybe some day I will get one. I love Ferm Living, especially their kids stuff. Now they have teamed up with Norwegian design duo Darling Clementine, and created pillows with prints from the Marionette series:

Sunday night
Another week’s gone by. This weekend we have painted Eowyn’s door (the back of the door I showed you before) with blackboard paint, so that she can paint on it. We’ve also painted the shelves we put up on the hallway (I’ll show you later) and the kitchen cabinet. Yesterday we visited Kretsloppsparken in search of a second hand door for our bathroom.

Eldblomma
Here is our new re-made door. Unfortunately the second hand wallpaper we had wasn’t enough to cover it, so instead I went out and bought a roll of Eldblomma by Josef Frank. (I have some other ideas on how to use that retro wallpaper, so it will hopefully come to use soon anyway.)

To renovate or not to renovate?
We’re thinking of maybe renovating one of our bathrooms (our only bathroom really, since we just turned the other one into a small laundry room). On one hand I feel it’s not really necessary to renovate, because even though the room is quite boring and ugly (plastic carpet and walls in beige), it would probably hold together for 10 or 20 more years and I don’t like being a part...

Family living is my favorite Swedish interior design magazine at the moment, but Hus & hem isn’t far behind, and they have a much more updated web site. Check out this beautiful house for example! I love just about everything about it, but most of all the yellow door.

Today I got two new interior design books in the mail (thanks to I love Peggy for the book tip). Flea market style and Cheap chic by Emily Chalmers:
