Like a gigantic garage sale
Today our whole neighbourhood turned into a gigantic garage sale/flea market. Everyone was encouraged to set up their own stands right about anywhere, on sidewalks, in parks etc.
This was the view from our window earlier today:
We didn’t sell anything this time, since we moved quite recently and got rid of a lot of stuff then. Instead we walked around and spent the 300 SEK I had in cash....

Great kitchen
I really like this kitchen, especially the light, the open shelves and the combination of different chairs.
Hmm, I wonder if Eames-chairs are cat-proof; i.e. if they can resist scratch marks? Seems like they might be both kids- and cat-proof. By the way, how come you always see cats in pictures like these, but the furniture and stuff always seem to be in perfect condition? I realize that...

Birthday Party!
Today we have celebrated the birthdays of our two daughters (which in reality occurs during next week). Eowyn turns 3 years and Ester turns 1. Hurray!
This is us waiting for the guests to arrive.
The two yellow table cloths are thrifted at Myrorna. They didn’t cover the entire table so we used some left over fabrics in between.
Balloons are the best thing ever!

Birthday party and a local flea market
This weekend will be pretty busy. Tomorrow we’ll be celebrating both Eowyn’s and Ester’s birthdays with a birthday party. They’re turning three and one next week. Eowyn is getting some stuff for her “kitchen”, i.e. the little Brio stove she got for christmas. Here’s a small shelf I bougth second hand, and pimped with some paper. It’ll be perfect...

Playing in the yard
One of the best things about our current apartment is the yard outside. Actually there are four really cozy, interconnected yards, with closed doors to the outside streets, which is very nice when you have small kids, like we do. On the fartherst yard there is a kindergarten, where Eowyn and Ester will start this fall. I just love how close by everything is here.
This weekend the weather has been...

Pretty comfortable dress - by Pop
About a year ago Pop boutique opened up a shop here in Gothenburg. They sell vintage furniture, ceramics and vintage clothing as well as their own clothing label Pop, which, according to their web site, is made with ethics in mind and, in some cases, from recycled fabrics.
The other day I went in and found a dress for the wedding we’re going to in a couple of weeks. I like wearing dresses,...

Malmö apartment
Just like Emma I just can’t get enough of Bo-laget right now (thanks for the tip, Emma!). I’ve hardly been to Malmö but seeing this fantastic apartment almost makes me want to move there. :)

Some old-new things around here
Tonight I’m eating the new ballerina kladdkaka-cookies from a new, but old tray (from snyggt igen).
The kitchen window has gotten a new pot plant on a second hand glass plate.
The Babar-posters has been laying around for a while - but now they’ve gotten brand new frames and a place in Ester’s room.
Today my dad brought us my old doll stroller. We’re gonna fix it up...

Second hand hat for Ester
I wish I could say that I had sewn this pretty hat myself.. But I haven’t :) Found it during my Stockholm trip at a second hand store with children clothes. It fits her perfectly though and the colors and pattern are really cool.
And today we did some more second hand shopping. Johan found a really nice suit, a shirt and a pair of jeans in one of the city’s better second hand...

Forever is today
I love the blog Forever is today:
The owner, Hilda Grahnat, is a graphics design student, and she also has a web shop where you can get some of her work. I love that library-print!

Vintage stroller?
Now that Ester is getting a bit bigger and Eowyn is so big that she can walk almost everwhere we feel it’s perhaps time to get rid of the sibling-pram and getting ourselves a cool vintage stroller. I’m searching the online second hand market for one, perhaps something like this? Unfortunately that was’t anywhere near here… Seems they’re pretty hard to find. :-/ I wish...

Ira Denmark
Yesterday we had some friends over for dinner. Got this cookie jar from Ira Denmark as a moving in present - filled with cookies! Don’t you just love it when your friends know exactly what you like? :-) I think that my dad has some more Ira Denmark jars at his place, I think I’ll have a look next time we’re visiting.

Bedroom changes
Lately we’ve introduced some minor changes in our bedroom. The bedside table to the right was something that we got on the side when we bought the rocking chair for our living room.
The purple carpet is also new, found it at Rusta (really cheap!). It has moved around the apartment, from Eo’s room to the hall via the diningroom and now it has ended up in our bedroom. Don’t know...

Use what you have
Beas barnslikheter (in Swedish) has a challenge for us this month called “Use what you have - the May challange”, it’s about using what you already have and making something of it. One object a week throughout May is the goal of the challange. I think it’s a great idea, and even though I don’t know if I’ll have the time to make one thing each week the blog is...

Mama hooks
Today we’ve put up three white Mama hooks (by Jonas Bergfeldt for Essem Design) in the hall. It would be nice to find a vintage mirror that would fit over the stool (we have one on the other side of the room), otherwise we’re pretty happy with the room as it is now.
PS. If you look closely you can see my new, red clogs on the top shelf. I got them in the mail yesterday. :-)
