Vacation’s almost over

We’ve had a couple of days with really nice weather lately, but today it’s raining outside, so me and Eowyn are going to the cinema to see Cars 2. A week ago we went on a boattrip to one of the islands south of Gothenburg, where there are no cars. Just bicycles and mopeds for transportation. Very calm and picturesque.

Speaking of cars, we no longer own one. The car that was parked next to ours burned (!) late one night and our car was so damaged that the insurance company gave us money instead. So now we’ve joined a car pool, which we had intended to do anyway, but in a couple of years time. It works really well!

A dressing up suitcase

Ever since we first read Totte klär ut sig, the kids have wanted their own dress up-chest. Inspired by some fellow bloggers I decided to go for an old suitcase that I found at a second hand store instead. Ester’s favorite at the moment is, as you can see, Pippi.

This orange ragrug was given away for free from some moving neighbours. Perfect for Ester’s room.

A little red cabin

Last week we went visiting some friends at their typical swedish summer house, a little red cabin. We had a really nice time! The kids loved the country side and we loved it too. Everything except the mosquitos. :-)

I was going to write a blog entry about some of the stuff I’ve been thrifting lately but then the Oslo-catastrophe happened and my own second hand shopping sort of didn’t feel that interesting. Still, there are horrible things happening in the world all the time, which normally doesn’t stop me, but this time it just came so close, Norway being one of Sweden’s neighbour countries and all. Underbara Clara wrote a very good blog entry (in Swedish) that puts the finger on how I feel about the horrible, horrible things that happened in Oslo, as well as all other terrible things that happen every day in the world, like children starving in eastern Africa right now.
