What should we do with the chairs?

We have these chairs, six of them, that we bought as a group together with our living room table like four years ago or so:

They are very dull and ever since we got them we’ve been thinking about what we should do with them. I especially don’t like the beige seat-fabric - we actually have a dark grey fabric just laying around and waiting to be put on. We just haven’t gotten around to it yet… The thing is I still think they’ll be a bit dull so lately I’ve been thinking about selling them and buying new ones instead. I’m really fond of old stickback chairs from the sixties…. Painted in bright colors or pastels. Or just having a collection of odd chairs.

But, since I try to live up to a more ecological lifestyle I should probably “dig where I stand” as the Swedish saying goes. Perhaps there are things one could do with them? A little bit of paint sometimes goes a long way. Or what do you think? Any ideas are wellcome! :-)
