Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…

…as Bob the Builder would say. Since we got the keys to our new apartment on Monday we’ve been pretty busy. We started out by tearing out most of the apartment’s floors…

…which made me feel a bit guilty, they did need renovation but weren’t totally worn out. But, we put an ad on Blocket and found someone who wanted to reuse the material. It felt a lot better that just throwing it away. We’ve also given away four wardrobes and a coatrack to a happy family who will hopefully have much use for them.

On the “plus-side” we’ve bought a lot of “new” furniture, everything second hand: a kitchen table, two really nice stickback chairs, a matching stool, a bedside table, a cabinet and a lamp in the form of a yellow rabbit:

Right now the apartment is being repainted (not by us) and after that new pine wood floors will be put in (also by professionals). Can’t wait to see the result.
