The babysitter (aka my mum) called in sick so instead of going to an interesting lecture with Johan I’m at home. But at least I got some nice company… :-)

Looking forward to the weekend, perhaps we’ll get around to painting all those 24 handles that I bought for the kids’ shelf?

I really liked Karin Mannerstål’s inspiration on how to make different handles for a drawer on the last episode of the Swedish TV-show Äntligen Hemma. Especially these ones:

Perhaps something like that for the kid’s new shelf? Instead of the duct tape handles we are currently using…

I entered a quiz yesterday on a work conference, and won an IPod Touch. Which means I’m now also on Instagram (follow me as sofiajon). The only app I really miss on my Android phone. Today I picked the kids up early - we’re playing with dough and watching Fixa Rummet right now.

Another nice example of shelves/cupboards for storage. I like that it covers the entire wall, and also the neat little grips. But in Eowyn’s room we’re probably going to go for something more fun and playful, perhaps glued on lego-pieces or something big and colorful like these (in different colors)?

First day of daycare and work today after a pretty long holiday, and I don’t know who’s most tired… We got a little bit of snow here today, enough to build a very tiny snowman, before it rained away again. The picture is from this weekend though, when we played with our Moomin house.

New shelves

Instead of traditional wardrobes we went for Bestå shelves from Ikea for Eowyn’s room. They are less deep than a wardrobe but instead they will very nicely cover the entire wall (at least I hope so). We ordered them today online, and I can’t wait until we get them. Hopefully the end result will look something like this:

On monday our Christmas break will be over, and we’ll go back to work and daycare. But for now we’re enjoying being at home and playing with all our Christmas gifts.

We just decided to try out our first home delivery grocery shopping (which apparently has become extremely popular here in Sweden, it was even supposed to be the Christmas present this year).

For us it’s not that important to get our groceries delivered to the door any more, since we nowadays have good stores on walking distance, including stores that specializes in organic and locally produced food. But when we stumbled upon Gårdsbutik Göteborg, who specializes in locally produced groceries, and only delivers once a month, we thought it would be worth a try. I really like their philosophy and hopefully it’ll give us a chance to try out some new products. And it will even be delivered by bicycle to us. :-)

Gone skiing

We’ve just got back home from a week in the mountains with some good friends, where we’ve been skiing, sledding, had snowball fights, celebrating new year’s eve, and much more. Lovely to see some snow - we haven’t seen any of that here in Gothenburg yet this year.

Right now we’re cleaning out all Christmas decorations around the apartment. Tomorrow we’re going to Ikea to have a look at some new wardrobes for Eowyn’s room. I would like to have Montana wardrobes, but they’re just a tad too expensive… And besides - if we were to get them I would want them in our bedroom as well.
