We also love our new venetian blinds, that we had put in today. They’re much neater that the old ones. 

Reuse

Now that we’ve gotten ourselves a new coffee table for our livingroom, we got the old table, which actually consisted of two small tables, over. Since they we’re quite perfect in size for a kids table one of them has moved into Ester’s room. I’m thinking that I might paint it or perhaps do some decoupage on the table top later on. 

Saturday night

Today we’ve visited a zoo, situated in a city near by. It was a very nice trip and the weather was great. The biggest event was probably that Eowyn gave up her pacifiers to the animal babies. We’d discussed this a while and she was quite ok with it. Except that she got scared by a friendly goat, so Johan had to step in and give the pacifiers away for her. :-)

Right now we’re watching Stardust and surfing on our laptops while sharing a bottle of wine. A quite normal evening apart from the wine. And the movie. Check out our new coffee table, which we picked up going home from the zoo. It’s perfect! We’re discussing maybe getting something new to put to the right of the sofa as well. Perhaps a Tolix cabinet? More storage is always wellcome.

Old and new photos

Finally, we’ve printed and framed some photos of the kids. The one in the middle however is an old photo of my grandparents and my grandma’s sister. I really like how they are sitting in the middle of a meadow.

I have a small collection of old pictures of relatives of mine, that are waiting to be framed. This one was the only one that came with a frame though. Hopefully Johan can persuade his parents to give up some of their old family pictures as well. It would be nice to have a collection with both old and new photos of our relatives. I especially like black and white pictures.

Birthday Party!

Today we have celebrated the birthdays of our two daughters (which in reality occurs during next week). Eowyn turns 3 years and Ester turns 1. Hurray!

The two yellow table cloths are thrifted at Myrorna. They didn’t cover the entire table so we used some left over fabrics in between.

Playing in the yard

One of the best things about our current apartment is the yard outside. Actually there are four really cozy, interconnected yards, with closed doors to the outside streets, which is very nice when you have small kids, like we do. On the fartherst yard there is a kindergarten, where Eowyn and Ester will start this fall. I just love how close by everything is here.

This weekend the weather has been great, so we’ve been playing outside most of the time.

Some old-new things around here

Tonight I’m eating the new ballerina kladdkaka-cookies from a new, but old tray (from snyggt igen).

The kitchen window has gotten a new pot plant on a second hand glass plate.

The Babar-posters has been laying around for a while - but now they’ve gotten brand new frames and a place in Ester’s room.

Today my dad brought us my old doll stroller. We’re gonna fix it up and give it to Eowyn for her birthday, which is in a couple of weeks. Any tips on how to get rid of all that rust on the wheels?

Ira Denmark

Yesterday we had some friends over for dinner. Got this cookie jar from Ira Denmark as a moving in present - filled with cookies! Don’t you just love it when your friends know exactly what you like? :-) I think that my dad has some more Ira Denmark jars at his place, I think I’ll have a look next time we’re visiting.

Bedroom changes

Lately we’ve introduced some minor changes in our bedroom. The bedside table to the right was something that we got on the side when we bought the rocking chair for our living room.

The purple carpet is also new, found it at Rusta (really cheap!). It has moved around the apartment, from Eo’s room to the hall via the diningroom and now it has ended up in our bedroom. Don’t know if it’ll get to stay there though. Perhaps it would look better in the kitchen?… Actually I would like to have one of those plastic carpets from Brita of Sweden in the bedroom. :-)

Anyways, right now we’re watching the office (best TV-show ever!) and relaxing after a long work week. Have a nice weekend everybody!

Mama hooks

Today we’ve put up three white Mama hooks (by Jonas Bergfeldt for Essem Design) in the hall. It would be nice to find a vintage mirror that would fit over the stool (we have one on the other side of the room), otherwise we’re pretty happy with the room as it is now.

PS. If you look closely you can see my new, red clogs on the top shelf. I got them in the mail yesterday. :-)
